A fine example of a 17th C. European batwing style axe. It has the proportions and balance of an original 17th C. Europeam axe, many of these were made in Northern Italy but the the style was used extensively in battle against the Ottoman turks by the horsemen of Eastern Europe. 23" long, 7" point to point of axehead.
