18th C. Spanish Processional Bearing Sword

( ID: e102 )

An interesting and quite early sword. The blade appears to be 17th C. Spanish which was remounted on a processional style handle with the original scabbard which is missing the upper scabbard mount. The blade is a double broadsword style blade. It is etched on both sides in the single fuller "Por my Dios et my Patria". The blade has a few small nicks on either side and some age darkening but is in otherwise good condition. OAL 39", blade is 32", 1 1/2" wide at base.
