18th C. Thailand Narai Hok Spear from Ayutthan Period with silver damascene

( ID: ca1112 )
18th C. Thai Narai Hok spear of original uncut length.

The iron head is inlaid with silver, much of which remains but needs to be cleaned. The haft is hard wood and the iron spear blade is hollow ground now with original age darkened patina.  A large and rare original example.

Overall length is 84". Spearhead is 13" and iron socket with the spearhead together is 23".

A fine and well balanced Thai spear. The silver damascene will clean up easily on the socket and will display beautifully.
