Antique 19th C. Moro Kampilan Headhunter's Sword with Finely Carved Wooden Handle ex. museum collection

( ID: is650 )

A very good example of a Moro Kampilan sword. This example dates from the late 19th C. and was picked up during the Spanish American War, as most of these were, by an American serviceman. From then until now it had sat in a museum collection, visible by the lightly sratched museum catalogue number on the ricasso and the tip of the blade.

A fine and sturdy example of these headhunter swords.

Overall length is 36", blade is 26".
