Excellent 16th C. Tibetan Domed Cane Shield, with iron and gilded brass mirror boss

    Description

    Shield probably dates 15 th – 18 th century, diameter 28 inches, central boss 6 inches. The central boss is iron with a non-ferrous outer ring embellished with traditional Tibetan motifs and gilded. There are two hanging hooks that appear to be original. See LaRocca, D.     The is light wear to some of the outer surface and paint, more so along the circumference as would be expected. The shield is very sturdy and totally intact.
