Excellent 19th C. Ottoman Turkish Wootz Kilich Pala Sword with original scabbard

A fine and large Ottoman kilich dating to the 19th C. This example has the original scabbard, mounted with silver fittings, now atrnished, chiseled and engraved with floral designs. The blade is thick and heavya nd made of Turkish Istanbul watered steel, a distinctive type and signficantly Turkish manufacture. The blade is of interesting design with a beveled yelman and think fuller running along near the spine. The blade has gold cartouche at the ricasso.
