Excellent 19th C. Tibetan Sword Ke-Tri mounted in gilded iron with hairpin damascus
|( ID: cs753 )|
A very good example an 19th C. Tibetan sword. This type is called a Ke-Tri and this one is mounted fully in carved iron, with some gilding remaining. The scabbard is mounted with three large corals and one is mounted on the handle as well. The handle was at some point wrapped in velvet but this is quite old at this point and matches the sword itself. The blade is a really excellent type with a deep damascus hairpin folding pattern that is quite vivid and uncommonly strong for these types of swords. The blade goes into and out of the scabbard with some strength.
Overall length is 30", blade is 24".
