An interesting style of Persian kard, dating to the late 18th C. This example has a double edged blade and opposed to most example which are single edged. The blade displays a fine watered steel wootz pattern throughout.
The grip bolster and bands are chiseled iron with inscriptions and gold koftgari decoration. The grip scales are original and made of horn.
Overall length 14 1/2, blade is 10.
