A fine example of a Qing Dynasty officers broadsword of large and impressive proportions. This example is mounted with finely chiseled and detailed matching brass mounts, white tinted sharkskin covered scabbard and textile wrapped handle. The blade is finely made with a heavily chiseled fullered designs indicative of earlier Persian influenced blades and with copper inserts between the fullers.
At the base of the blade is a chiseled dragon on both sides. Condition is very fine throughout with no losses.
Overall length is 38", blade is 30" in length, 2" wide and 1/4" thick at the ricasso, a fine and heavy well made blade.
