Fine 19th C. Napoelonic French Naval Officers Dagger or Dirk

A fine example of a 19th C. French officers or NCO's naval dagger or dirk. This example is mounted with a fine and razor sharp double edged blade of tapering quadrangular cross section, with a razor sharp cutout circles at the ricasso for cutting rope or cord on a vessel.  The crossguard is in the form of an anchor and the pommel is brass and fully original to the dagger.  Similar in design and shape to a finer example we have in this section, # ED538.  

Dates to 1800-1840.

Overall length is 12", blade is 7".
