|( ID: id600 )|
A nice example of this unique style of dagger that mixes Indian decorative work and aesthetic styles with the shape of the Arabian jambiya. These types of jambiyas were made for the Indo-Arab residents of Sind and Gujarat on the Western coast where the monsoon trade winds created a unique cultural melting pot, as Arab sailors, merchants and traders came to the Western shore of Indian to settle and live their lives. They brought with them their traditional jambiya daggers, the shape of which was adopted but which was decorated in the Indian way.
