Fine 19th C. Norwegian Scandinavian Walrus and scrimshaw knife or dagger

    Description

A very beautiful made and carved Norwegian knife. This example likely dates to the late 19th C. and is covered in beautiful crafted scrimshaw. The handle and scabbard were carved from a walrus tusk and the inner part of the tusk can be seen at the carved crown pommel. There is a small crack at the top of the scabbard, but the entire piece is structurally sound.

Likely a high quality whaler's example.

    Overall length is 9.
