Fine 19th C. Ottoman Turkish Wootz Kilich Sword

    Description

    A fine example of a 19th C. Ottoman Turkish kilich sword. This example is mounted with silver koftgari decorated iron mounts and a large and heavy Persian wootz blade with a cartouche at the forte on one side of the blade and a chiseled lion over a mark for Assadullah on the other side.

    The Assadullah being the stamp or cartouche of what has been heavily researched to be a guild of swordsmiths.

    Overall length is 371/2, Blade is 32.
