Fine antique European German Rapier sword dating to the 17th- early 18th C.

Fine original 17th C. -early 18th C. European, likely German or Italian rapier of ring hilt form. 

The iron is attractively  chiseled throughout with swirling designs of a form well known in other

 collections. The blade is of  hexagonal cross section and has a makers mark running down the

 fuller  on either side.  The grip  retains the original wrapping or a period re-wrap.

Overall length is 40" , blade is 32".
