Fine Pair of 19th C. Qianlong Period Chinese Qing Shuangjian Swords
|( ID: cs377 )|
A fine pair of 19th C. Chinese Shuangjian swords. This example comes from a small collection of shuangjians, all from an old missionary family. Very uncommon to find these types of swords, especially the double examples. The blades are inlaid in silver on both sides and display a few losses of silver but are otherwise in good condition. The handle scrimshaw is better quality that usual and the crossguards show etched writing on the obverse side. Overall length is 36", with 28" blades.
