Late 18th C. English Sword with fascinating provenance to Bannister Trulock

( ID: es786 )

A fine late 18th C. English civilians smallsword belonging to Bannister Trulock. He was imprisoned in 1803 for the attempted assasination of King George III and was partly the reason for the first ever Insanity Act of 1800 to prevent his and his co-conspirator, James Hadfield's, release into the care of their family. An important historical item. The grip was likely replaced at a later point but otherwise condition is superb with all original fire gilding and no losses and completely tight.
