Late 19th C. Japanese Showa Period Tachi Sword, signed

A fine example of a late 19th C. Japanese tachi sword, without the tsuka or crossguard.  This example has the original scabbard finely lacquered in reddish gold maki-e, with the original hanging fittings.  The blade is in fine condition with hamon clearly visible. 

length is 27", overall length is 37".
