Massive 19th C. Caucasian Georgian Black Sea Cossack's Kindjal Dagger

    Description

    A very large and well made 19th C. Caucasian Black Sea cossack's kindjal. Of distinct form these have been attributed to the eastern Black Sea and to the Gurian people in Georgia where they would be carried with the distinct yataghan formerly in our collection and now sold. This example is mounted with a horn grip, mounted with nielloed silver mounts. The scabbard is original and has a silver and niello mount and the traditional large iron chape framing the bottom of the scabbard.
