    Description

    An exceptional mid 18th C. French hunting sword of cuttoe form. This example has a fine gold decorated blade with hunting scenes, and displays the proportions of the third quarter of the 18th C.

    The grip is carved bone set with silver wrapping. There is an old age crack but the grip is completely structurally sound with no losses.

    The crossguard is chiseled and gilded iron of the finest level of quality, with reticulated dogs tongues made of gold on the ends of the quillons.
