Minty WWII Japanese Mantetsu Sword Katana

    Description

    This is a quite rare and desirable Japanese katana made with the Mantetsu blade. This example is in very fine MINTY condition. The blade appears to be in original polish with the fine Mantetsu style polish, with almost three levels of polish. It is rare for a WWII made blade to display such a prominent hada, but the best Mantetsu blades had it, and this example shows it off wonderfully. The tang is fully signed and dated,"Koa Isshin Mantetsu saku ???????, dated Showa Kanto Mi Haru (Spring, 1941) ?????", shinogi-zukuri shape" Koa Isshin Mantesu blades werecmanufactured at Manchurian Railway Company at Dairen in Manchuria during WWll time period, and are listed in John Slough's book on pages 94-95.
