Rare 18th C. Indian Sikh Wootz Tulwar Shamshir

A very uncommon Sikh tulwar likely dating from the 18th-19th C. This example has a fine chiseled and gold overlaid handle which remains over half of the original decoration, and has an uncommon d-guard addition which displays the Sikh trident symbol. The blade is fine wootz which is visible throughout with a hardened edge. There are few spots of pitting but overall the blade is fine. Comes with leather covered wood scabbard in tired condition. 36" in length, blade is 31"
