Rare 19th C. Arabian Shamshir with wootz blade and fittings, and solid silver scabbard

A quite rare early 19th C. Arabian or Yemeni shamshir with a very fine wootz blade, crossguard and scabbard fittings. The scabbard is solid silver mounted with chiseled designs and with silver point work that recallcertain Yemeni jambiyas.

The blade displays a fine Persian wootz pattern throughout and has almost no signficant pitting or age darkening. A fine condition blade.
