( ID: ka465 )

A very interesting early German gothic hunting horn. This example is made of iron and chiselled throughout with Germanic motifs, and is chiselled with three inscriptions "Ilsenburg," " Ora Pro Nobis," and "St. Hurbertus". St Hurbertus is the patron saint of hunting, Ilsenburg is a village in the Black Forest, and Ora pro nobis translates as "Pray for us". Very large and heavy piece and comes with its own customs stand. 14" long PLEASE CLICK ON THUMBNAIL TO SEE MORE IMAGES
