Rare Meiji Sonin Officials Diplomatic Sword

A quite rare Meiji period Japanese diplomatic sword. This example has the seven blossomed Paulownia Imperialis (kiri) which denotes that this sword belonged to a diplomat personally appointed by the Emperor. A particularly rare variation. The condition is perfect with no losses of any type.

It is an especially interesting sword since it has a small silver mon attached to obverse side of the crossguard and it would be much easier to actually track and locate to whom this belonged than with other types of swords. As there were many fewer diplomats than other officials this would be great project.
