Rare Persian Qajar Officers Sword Shamshir with Wootz scabbard and Wootz blade!

A very fine quality Qajar Period officers sword. This example is of the type made in Imperial Russia for the Royal Persian army officer corp. Most examples of this type are of poor quality however this example features a custom made scabbard and blade fully decorated with gold koftgari and made from watered steel or wootz. The scabbard is in excellent condition retaining almost 95% of the gold koftgar and showing wootz beneath a thin layer of darkening, and which would clean up beautifully. The blade isis very fine Persian wootz withgold koftgari at the ricasso. Likely dating from the fourth quarter of the 19th C.
