Saudi Presentation Gold Plated Shamshir Saif with real Turqoise Inlays

Sold

    Description

A superb antique Saudi presentation sword. This example dates from the early- mid 20th C. and came from the estate of a Shell Oil engineer who was stationed in Saudi Arabia between 1920-1950. It is very heavy and has the original case as well which has allowed the sword to remain in very fine condition. The metal is all gold plated and the blue stones are true turquoise while the other stones appear to be crystals. A fantastic presentation sword in excellent condition, very little loss to the gilding though there is some loss to the blade plating, which shows Arabic caligraphy for the entire length.

Overall length is 38", blade is 32".
