Very fine 18th C. Indian Tulwar Shamshir Sword with wootz handle and kara taban blade

    Description

    A fine and quite uncommonly good quality antique 18th C. Mughal Indian sword, likely from North India. This example has a finely crafted blade made from kara taban watered steel or wootz, of very strong deep contrast and quality. The handle is made of wootz as well and remains in very nice condition. The scabbard is later, but has a fine silver chape.

    For the purist who appreciates aesthetic design and clean lines.

    Overall length is 39, blade is 31 and 1 1/8 wide.
