Very Rare 19th C. Mysore South Indian Shamshir with damascus blade

( ID: is1233 )

A fine example of a 19th C. South Indian shamshir likely from Mysore.  The fittings and the handle are copper inlaid with black lac.  The blade is a beautiful damascus showing off as vivid pattern and with a European influnced pipeback styled blade.

Very fine overall quality and condition.
