17th C. English Dishhilt Rapier

An early English Catholic or French rapier. This example is very large over 48, and mounted with a gorgeous original fighting blade, incised with the Latin letters for Jesus Christ. The wide bowl guard is finely incsied and chiselled with floral designs, there is one small but very old repair which can be seen in the pictures.
