# 17th C. Left hand Satanic Grotesque Demonic Dagger Misericorde

Status: Sold · Region: Europe · Type: Daggers

A very interesting early 17th C. Satanic or demonic rites 17th C. dagger. It is made as a left hand type dagger but the grotesque crossguard and handle are very finely formed. The pommel is likely from an old rapier and was put together on order for a customer. It is certainly 17th C. and original altogether. Very interesting design. The crossguard quillons are similar to lithographs of Satan from the 16 and 17th centuries with thick tubular type horns. Overall length is 20, blade length is 14
