A gorgeous 18th C. Persian shamshir with a wootz blade, displaying the rare Tears of Allah pattern, otherwise known as kirk narduban pattern, and fine dark wootz patterning throughout the blade. This example has a beautiful scabbard made from tooled leather and with similar cartouches as on the blade, also tooled on the scabbard, a very unique featureThe overall sword is balanced beautifully and is an excellent example of the type. 38 1/2 overall length, with the deep curve the blade is 31 from tip to crossguard.
