19th C. Chinese Qing Period Army Officers Sword with Fangshi fittings

Status: Sold · Region: China, East Asia, Tibet · Type: Swords

A nice example of a 19th C. Qing officers sword. This is a much more uncommon type with angular fangshi fittings, and with original grip wrap. The fittings are very finely chased and repoussed with images of dragons chasing the pearl and other motifs. The balde is clean and true with no bends, and in very nice condition.

Overall length is 23 1/4, blade is 17 1/4.
