19th C. Kashmiri North Indian Enamelled Shield

A very fine quality and large mid 19th C. North Indian dhal shield. This example is beautifully made and completely chiselled out of brass. The chiselling work is of the finest quality. The recesses were then filled in with black enamel.

There are few losses of enamel and one small ding, but otherwise the shield is in gorgeous condition. One of the finest of its type.
