19th C. Maori Taiaha

Status: Sold · Region: Other · Type: Other

A very fine original example of a 19th C. Maori Chief's taiaha war club fighting staff. This example is in very fine condition with paua abalone shell eyes and very fine carving. It even retains the orginal parrot feathers held on by some kind of organic material dating it to the 19th C.

A very fine example of this rare Maori weapon and symbol of rank.
