19th C. Rare Indian Fakir's Crutch Mace

Status: Sold · Region: Islamic Antiques · Type: Other

A nice and quite rare 19th C. Indian fakir's crutch. As fakir's were not allowed to carry edged weapons, they carried these kinds of crutches which also functioned as maces, and a type of axe. They usually contain a concealed dagger on the inside, but that is missing on this example. A fine and rare Indian weapon.

18" length, 8 1/2" length of spike and macehead.
