19th C. Turkish Ribbon Damascus Yataghan Sword

Status: Sold · Region: Islamic Antiques · Type: Other

A nice example of an early Turkish yataghan with a rare ribbon damascus blade. This piece is in good condition with few losses. The goat horn handle scales are good with no losses and the scabbard is solid as well.

The blade is very fine with ribbon damascus pattern visible throughout, which could use an acid etch with lemon juice to bring it out even more. Though it is clearly visible in the blade as it is.
