# Antique 18th C. Croatian Dalmation Venetian Schiavona

Status: Sold · Region: Europe · Type: Other

A nice early 18th C. Venetian schiavona. This example has had the grip wire re-wrapped sometime in its working life, likely during the Victorian era. The basket is somewhat loose, but the blade and guard appear to be contemporary of each judging by the pommel and securing which shows the same good 18th C. patina. The blade is quite well made and double-edged. Overall length is 42", blade is 35".
