Antique 19th C. Ottoman Turkish Jambiya or Khanjar Dagger

A beautiful and large example of a traditional style Ottoman jambiya or khanjar. This is a well known type but of particularly pleasing appearance with a gilded brass design of elegant proportions. The blade is a cruciform type, likely of watered steel, but in original polish and retaining silver koftgari designs at the ricasso on both sides.
