Excellent 19th C. Indian Rajastani Kard Dagger with a watered steel wootz blade

Status: Sold · Region: India · Type: Daggers

A very fine example of a 19C. Indian kard. This example has a heavy and thick wootz blade, overlaid with gold koftgari in the shape of the sun in a very similar style to lacquer work paintings on Rajastani shields. This leads us to believe that the piece originates from Rajastan though the shape and type could be found throughout India.

Overall lenght - 14, blade - 8
