Exceptional late 18th C Chinese Peidao Sword Saber with hairpin laminated blade

Chinese late 18th C. peidao sabre of large proportions, with rare Chinese laminated damascus blade of rare form and shape, with hardened edge. Remains razor sharp.

Fittings are of very fine quality in gilded copper with much of the gilt remaining. The black tinted rayskin all remains except for a small strip along the edge between the chape and the belt fitting.

Beautiful sword.
