Fine 18th-19th C. Caucasian Niello Persian Kard Dagger

Status: Sold · Type: Daggers

A beautiful late 18th through early 19th C. Persian kard with a silver and niello mounted Caucasian or Central Asian scabbard. These types of pieces were made by Bukharian craftsman from the Caucasus region through Uzbektistan, but the syle of decoration suggest a Caucasian origin for this example. The kard is finely proportioned and is original to the scabbard, which was made on order for it. Very fine condition. Overall dimensions 15.5, blade is 9.
