Fine original 17th C. -early 18th C. European, likely German or Italian rapier of ring hilt form.

Theiron is attractivelychiseled throughout with swirling designs of a form well known in other

collections. The blade is ofhexagonal cross section and has a makers mark running down the

fulleron either side. The gripretains the original wrapping or a period re- wrap.
