Fine Philippines 19th C. Talibon Sword, Sword of Christian Tribes of North Philippines

The Talibon sword is the primarysword of the Christian tribes of northern Philippines. The heavy and very sharp blade has a beveled edged witha thick spine. The original carved wooden handle is wrapped with cane, and the wooden scabbard has the original hanging cloth as well with a Chinese coin.This sword is characterized by the floral style pommel and was the favored weapon of the Dios-Dios cult, also known as the Pulajanes.
A fine condition and original battle sword.
Overall length is 27, blade is 20 and 1/4 thick at the spine.
