Gorgeous 19th c. Sino-Vietnamese Curved Kiem with beautiful carved dragon handle

Status: Sold · Region: China, East Asia, Tibet · Type: Swords

A very rare 19th C. Vietnamese kiem sword sabre with a gorgeously carved handle. This example has the original scabbard with silver fittings, with a few lossed. The wood is also inlaid with much nicer than usual mother of pearl inlays of flowers and small creatures. The blade is probably older and has some age darkening and slightly shaky to the hilt. Overall 32, blade is 27.
