Gorgeous Cossack Caucasian Kindjal Qama Sword with thick gold overlay

A gorgeous and very large 19th C. Caucasian kindjal qama кинжалfrom the Southern Caucasus. This example is dated to the early 19th C., 1802. It is covered profusely in very thick koftgari, not thin as usual on these types of pieces, but thick and raised over the blade. It has profuse inscriptions on both sides of the blade. Gold remains in 90% condition. Wonderful example of this kind of kindjal and very large piece. 24 overall, 18 blade 2 wide and 1/4 thick.
