A very rare two hanger version of the Japanese general officers parade sword. This example has a sharkskin handle in nice condition with the special backstrap for general officers. The scabbard has the two ring suspension set- up that is listed in Fuller and Gregory as "scarce". See the example of General Sadao Araki wearing a two hanger parade sabre on page 23 plate 19. The blade is very clean and in good condition and is actually quite sharp and well made, different from many other parade swords with thinner and less well made blades.
