# Late 18th C.\- Early 19th C. Bukharan Central Asian Jade Handle Kard shortsword with inlaid rubies

Status: Sold · Region: Islamic Antiques · Type: Other

A very nice and quite rare late 18th C. Bulharan Central Asian short sword kard dagger. This example is mounted with an outsized and quite large nephrite jade handle with two inlaid rubies on either side of the handle, and one missing from the butt of the handle. The bolster is a gold overlaid iron and in very nice condition.

The blade is quite interesting an appears to be two sections of different wootz that were forged together which shows the forging area in the middle of the blade. The scabbard also is in quite nice condition.

Overall length is 18" long, 5 " handle. 11" blade. 2" wide blade
