Rare 17th C. Indian Chiseled Iron Pata Sword with 16th C. European broadsword blade

A very fine and early example of this Indian sword. It like dates from the 17th C. by the wonderful age on the inside of the grip. The gauntlet itself is chiseled with scenes of animals and floral motifs. The blade is an old European broadsword blade of fine flexibility displaying the original armorers marks. The gauntlet retains about 50% of the original silver overlay as well. 48 overall, blade is 37.
