Rare 17th C. Ottoman Turkish Dagger with silver gilt scabbard

Very rare late 17th C. Battle of Vienna period Ottoman Turkish dagger. This example is of the period mid 17th c. to early 18th c. The characteristicfaceted handle is beautifully aged with the exact color and shape of similar examples to be found numerous references. The scabbard is of the characteristic shape and design with chiseled silver and then gilded designs overlaid onto the silver. The blade is an excellent example of this type with gold koftgari writing and designs on the ricasso on both sides of the blade. The blade is slightly shaky from age.
