Rare and Large Fine Quality WWII Chinese Nationalist Officers Sword

Status: Sold · Region: China, East Asia, Tibet · Type: Other

A quite rare WWII era Chinese nationalist officers sword of very large proportions and design. This example appears to be Japanese made since the blade may have a temper line which a good polish would bring out.

The handle is mounted in fishskin and brass. The mounts are finely chiselled and quite deep as opposed to the usually made Chinese officers sword of poor quality. This example is the best quality of these I've seen.

36" overall, blade is 28 1/2".
